This past Saturday the 27th, Mom and I drove down to Loraine and C-City for Gabriella's birthday party. We had the best time! The kids were in the pool, there were snow cones, a pinata, animal masks, tattoos, hot dogs...basically any kid's dream. It was a very hot afternoon, but we had fun visiting and watching the kids run around.

My Big Surprise...

This last Wednesday I received a huge surprise on my doorstep...Ulisses! He'd been gone to Georgia and had told me that he wouldn't be in until late Friday night. I was a little sad because I had hoped he might get to come home on Wednesday. However, he convinced me over the phone that it would be an impossibility. And so Wednesday night, I'm in mismatched clothes with no makeup on redecorating my living room and visiting with Mom...when she tells me she's going home, it was a little past ten. When she opens the door...we see green army bags and one handsome smiling soldier! What a shock! Ulisses had tricked me! He asked his friend Edgar to pick him up at the airport so that he could surprise me...he's so sweet!

Big Boys...

Two weeks ago Mom and I went to stay a couple of days in Gail. It was perfect timing since I had a weeks off before I started teaching summer school and Mom's summer session hadn't yet begun. We had so much fun with the boys...they are so cute and sweet. Above are some pictures of Gabriel and Martin. They got in the basket by themselves to watch cartoons. Their absolute favorite is Thomas the Train.

29 Weeks...

My Ulisses...

Ulisses has been in Georgia since last Wednesday...and I sure do miss him. He's been doing training with the Army and will be gone a little over two weeks. The good news is he'll be home just in time for Father's Day...which we will definitely be celebrating. You know, I have a feeling our baby girl is going to be a big time daddy's girl...Ulisses is such a sweety. I've seen the way he is with his little sister, our nieces and nephews...and he's going to be an awesome father.

Hope time moves quickly and that my love bug is back home soon...

Camila...

A couple of weeks ago our friends Veronica and Sergio from Ojinaga were down in Odessa. It seems one of Vero's relatives graduated from a school here and so they made a last minute decision to come. Ulisses and I were glad they called and that we got to see them briefly. We met up for breakfast at IHOP and got to visit some. Their precious baby girl is growing fast...and watching them as a family gave us a cool glimpse of what is now our very near future.

Coming to the end of another school year was a little sad for me this year. I won't be returning in the fall. I'm going to stay home with our baby girl...which is a decision Ulisses and I were in total agreement on. However, it was sad because I love teaching...and my time at Permian has been wonderful. I love my principal...coworkers...and especially the students. I'm so blessed that this year in particular was so exceptional...my kids were so smart, hardworking and just so sweet. I was really touched when the seniors selected me as one of the "teachers of the year." I wish I could give them all the "students of the year" award...they are so great.
